My 360 didn't get the 3 red lights, but instead it just stopped reading discs. It happened suddenly, and now the disc drive for some reason just makes weird noises when you put a disc in. Everytime it says "Unreadable disc".
The problem is, me and my bro opened the entire 360 up to see the drive from inside. We broke the clamps because we couldn't figure out any other way to open it. We tried almost everything and the drive will not work.....
I know that voids the warranty, but will Microsoft still take it back and fix it for money? If so, how much money will they ask for? And also, will they just sell me a disc drive so I can replace it by myself and not have to send it to them?

if you opened it up then the warranty is voided like you said, i can't see them not taking it back to repair it if you are willing to pay for it, you would have to call xbox customer support to find out how much, they would most likely have to look at it before they could tell you how much its gonna cost. 1-800-4my-xbox

No, they won't sell you just a drive. Your warranty is gone but they may still take it back for 100$ I believe they charge.
I do not see why not. Microsoft are responsible of your Xbox 360. Go get it exchange %26 it is free repair.
If your warrenty is expired you have to pay money to get the 360 fixed.
Yup, ya did the wrong thing and it will cost you big time. I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but anytime you mess with something that they tell you not to mess with, you have problems. Now here is the thing. If they broke it, they fix it. Plain and simple, you broke it, you pay them to fix it. You and your bro should have known better, There's a reason these things are sealed. Those red lights on the inside are laser lights that read the disc that you put in the machine. If those are off by a very small margin, it won't work. It seems to me that you have a really nice and very expensive paper weight.
