Microsoft word '97 not working?

i have microsoft word '97 (i have the cdrom). it's been working smoothly. then suddenly, the spell check just stopped working?

how can i fix it?

You might have to uninstall and reinstall if it is that important to you.

Microsoft stopped support for MS97 a long time ago. Have you considered buying the Student Teacher version of Office 2003 - or - the free Open Office?

Microsoft updates its program every year and the disk could have been run too many times. You should buy a new Microsoft Word disc.
