Microsoft Word - Use of a password to gain access?

I would like to be, the only person who can get access to the letters and documents, I have saved in Microsoft Word.

Can someone please tell me, if it is possible to install a PASSWORD, that must be given, before a saved file can be opened?

As I am an old man, not too well and now a wee bit slow, please explain the steps I have to take, in very simple (non jargon) language.

I will be so grateful.

When you have created a document, click on ''Save As''. When the box appears, click on tools and then select ''Security options''. You can then type in a password. Give your document a name as usual and save as appropriate.

You can do the same with existing documents when you click on ''open''.

Hope this helps!
